Yucca Valley is the Gateway to Joshua Tree National Park, is the town with the majority of the local services, and is the economic hub. If you are looking for a great retirement community, look no further.
The town has parks, a museum, a library, grocery stores, big-box shopping, mom-and-pop shopping, hardware stores, gas stations, restaurants, and more. Close to all, Yucca Valley is a great base to go see the sights from; in just two hours, you are at the beach; an hour and a half, you are at Disneyland; two hours to the Colorado River, three hours to Las Vegas, one hour to Big Bear Lake, and 25 minutes to Palm Springs. There are a lot of art exhibitions, music venues, and festivals to attend as well. The weather is about 15 degrees cooler than Palm Springs, so we enjoy a great climate year-round.
There is an annual swap meet on the weekends, a golf course, parks, churches, hiking, camping, a senior center, and so much more. With a population of fewer than 25,000, it is a small, friendly, and tight-knit community that feels like the midwest more than California. We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do!
