Yucca Valley is the Gateway to Joshua Tree National Park, and is the town with the majority of the local services and is the economic hub. If you are looking for a great retirement community, look no further.
The town has parks, a museum, a library, grocery stores, big box shopping, mom and pop shopping, hardware stores, gas stations, restaurants and more. Close to all, Yucca Valley is a great base to go see the sights from, in just two hours you are at the beach, an hour and a half you are at Disneyland, two hours to the Colorado River, three hours to Las Vegas, one hour to Big Bear Lake, and 25 minutes to Palm Springs. There are a lot of art exhibitions, music venues, and festivals to attend as well. The weather is about 15 degrees cooler than Palm Springs, so we enjoy a great climate year round.
There is an annual swap meet on the weekends, a golf course, parks, churches, hiking, camping, senior center, and so much more. With a population of fewer than 25,000 it is a small, friendly and tight knit community that feels like the mid-west more than California. We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do!
